Grzegorz Klatka / Photographer


Polish photographer Grzegorz Klatka (1976)/ is a graduate of the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava, Czech Republic.
He lived and worked as a photojournalist for the local media in Prague for two years.
He used a part of his job, which included traveling by car around the city streets, to
create a series of portraits of the Prague community. Klatka, using a camera built in his
car, had been taking pictures of people and scenes observed in the cabins behind his
back. He created a series of portraits of people, drivers and passengers ?trapped? in the
city jam. Out of eighteen thousand photographs of more than three thousand people,
the author has selected a few dozens of portraits which are, in his opinion, the most
Klatka worked as a photojournalist for weekly Polityka in the past and cooperated with
polish and foreign newspappers and magazines. He has won awards in photo competitions:
1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the Polish Press Photo (1998, 1999), 2nd prize in Humanity
Photo Awards (China 2007) honorable mention in the Gorzow Photographic Confrontations
(Poland 1998, 2004), and Grand Prix in Poster Biennale in Plock, Poland (2007). He also
participated in numerous exhibition both in Europe and Asia.
